Hermann Holzer was a true pioneer at Kronplatz.
In 1964, the craftsman and ski instructor founded the first ski school at Kronplatz together with two colleagues. In the 1970s he fulfilled a dream: using wood from an old barn, he and his friends built a hut in the middle of the forest.
In winter the hut was his second home, just a few steps from the Alpen ski slope. Hermann also spent a lot of time here in summer, working with passion and enjoying the peace of nature. At weekends, his wife often joined him with their three sons. For the children, the hut became a special place full of adventures, on skis in winter and mushroom hunting in summer.
Today his sons continue the family tradition as ski instructors at Kronplatz. The youngest son, Hugo, has lovingly renovated and modernised the hut together with his wife Edeltraud over the past few years.
